Back in November, we shut down the Torcadino Room and the House of Lycus sub-room.

The chief reason for this Ivenia and I both had a lot going on at the time and we did not want the Torcadino room sitting idle, given the legacy it has on Portal of Dreams and all the work we had put in to respecting that legacy setting it up.

So why are we bringing the House of Lycus back in Freeport?

Partly because a lot of old friends who helped us with running the room have returned after real time issues.

Partly because a lot of new friends offered to help with running things now.

Partly because of some drama in Marcus Lycus' story that required he move his operations to someplace more secure than Torcadino... like an trade island with no slaver and a need for some capital investment.

The details of this will be revealed in our RP.

For now, all you need know is the House is back!

Hello everyone.

For a number of reasons, Ivenia/Cattitude and I feel the need for a change.

Partly it is because we've had a number of offers of alliances with other rooms, which really doesn't make sense as this room was meant to be a House rather than a city.

Partly it is because, as awesome as you all are, most of you now seem to be on when we are not.

It is rather hard to be a Slaver when you have no slaves to train. The same is true for slaves that are, nominally, being prepared for sale.

To that end, we are going to be making the House of Lycus the subroom of a new Torcadino city room.  We will also be making new MPGs to act as the city managers.

Those of you who wish to stay as part of the House will be free to do so.

Those of you whom it makes sense to move into the Torcadino room, like say our merchant guest, are free to do that too.

Those of you who wish to move on to other climes?  Via con queso!

If anyone has any questions or concerns, now is the time to voice them.

I spoke with Lily last night. She is starting a new job on the 17th.

Beyond that, no idea when she might be back.

Indeed. And Marcus will react most harshly towards any slave who is not treating the Free Women of the Home with the respect and honor that is their right aa Free Women.

For those who missed it, Lily is going to be away from us for a while. Her computer finally died and she can't afford to replace it at the moment.

She contacted me through Discord on her phone and let me know what is going on.

Hello all.

I have logged and read through the incident on Sunday, where Liam, a slave of Tharna, was caged while observing in the House of Lycus.

While I commend the speed with which Thorgeir and Claudia responded to a fox in our henhouse (so to speak), the fact of the matter is that he did have ~o~ in his name and did not interact with anyone until he was spoken to. 

This, to me, represents a good faith attempt to observe under the site rules, even if he was not using the official OOC or observing pulldown. Not all rooms have this feature and one likely wouldn't notice it if they were honestly watching things rather than taking part.

That being said, I have spoken with Liam, and he is (as Claudia noted) in a largely inactive city. And he may be looking for a new home.

I have consulted with the wise and lovely Chimera and confirmed that the general rule of thumb on Portal of Dreams is that if a slave does not hear from their Master in two weeks, they can be considered abandoned and seek a new home. (By the same token, a slave who does not report to their Master for two weeks can be declared a runaway.)

For now, Liam is welcome to observe in the House of Lycus so long as he uses the ~o~ tag.  I have freed him from his cage and intend to inform him of my decision when I next see him.
